August 30, 2023 -I have severe cat allergies to male cats, as they carry more of the protein that causes allergies, Fel d1. Female cats carry less- I had a female cat growing up that I was fine with. My Siamese is a boy, and I’m severely allergic to him (didn’t find this out until after adopting). So I don’t think the breed makes a difference but it is proven that a female cat will cause you less problems, so that’s what I advise.
